United States Mint Releases Two New 2024 Issue Silver Eagles
Burnished/Uncirculated and S Mint Proof join the Mint’s Silver Eagle offerings
2024 Burnished Silver Eagle
In 2006, the United States Mint began releasing limited numbers of “Burnished” or “Uncirculated Finish” Silver Eagle coins. They differ from regular strikes and proof coins by being struck on coin blanks (planchets) that have been specially polished to a soft matte finish. Seemingly designed to sit between the regular issue and the collector favorite proof coin, burnished issues are generally struck in lower numbers than the proof, giving them the potential for even higher collector values.
We are offering the most elite specimens available, with only 200 examples available worldwide. These coins feature perfect MS-70 grade, Advanced Releases pedigree, and a certificate label hand-signed by the late Michael “Miles” Standish. You can learn more about Standish in the catalog flipbook below.
2024-S San Francisco Mint Silver Eagle Proof
For 2024 the United States Mint is releasing two proof issues. One, struck at the West Point mint facility, was released earlier this year. Now the Mint is making the companion San Francisco Mint release available. This issue bears the S mintmark of the historic San Francisco Branch Mint, first opened in 1854 to serve the gold mines of the California Gold Rush. Today the current facility specializes in proof issues and commemoratives.
We are offering the most elite specimens available, with only 300 to be offered singly, and 200 in a three-coin Legacy Set (see below). These coins feature perfect MS-70 grade, Advanced Releases pedigree, and a certificate label hand-signed by the late Michael “Miles” Standish. You can learn more about Standish in the catalog flipbook below.
